Anti-Money Laundering Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Geerok is committed to full compliance with applicable Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) regulations. We operate a zero-tolerance policy for illegal financial activity.

1. Our Commitment

Geerok is committed to preventing the use of our platform for money laundering, terrorist financing, or any other illegal financial activity. We take our compliance obligations seriously and cooperate fully with law enforcement and regulatory authorities.

2. Know Your Customer (KYC)

While basic platform access does not require identity verification, we reserve the right to request identity documents for large transactions, suspicious activity, or where required by law. Users who cannot be verified may have their accounts restricted.

3. Transaction Monitoring

All deposits and orders on Geerok are monitored for unusual patterns. We flag transactions that appear inconsistent with a user's normal activity, involve unusually large amounts, or show patterns associated with layering or structuring.

4. Suspicious Activity Reporting

Where we identify suspicious transactions, Geerok will file reports with the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and other relevant authorities as required. We will not tip off users when such reports are made.

5. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on Geerok: using the platform to launder proceeds of crime; structuring deposits to avoid reporting thresholds; using multiple accounts to obscure the source of funds; conducting transactions on behalf of sanctioned individuals or entities; and any activity that facilitates terrorism or proliferation financing.

6. Sanctions Screening

Geerok screens users and transactions against international sanctions lists including OFAC, UN Security Council, and EU sanctions lists. Accounts associated with sanctioned individuals or entities will be immediately suspended and reported to authorities.

7. Record Keeping

We maintain records of all transactions, deposit references, and user identification data for a minimum of 7 years as required by Nigerian law and international best practice.

8. Staff Training

Our team receives ongoing training on AML/CTF obligations, red flags, and reporting procedures.
